Airport
The Argonia Airport is open and maintained. A phone is available for local service, but no fuel is on hand at this time. There is a tie down west of the main building.
 
The airport is used for special occasions such as hot air balloon launches.  When needed, the airport allows EagleMed and LifeTeam emergency medical helicopters to land and pickup patients.
 
Argonia Community Center
The Community Center in Argonia provides space for many social activities.  The building is home to the Lion's Club annual Santa Day, the Christmas Tree Lighting Service, the Chamber of Commerce's Farm & Art Markets.  Wedding receptions and dances are held in the building.  Don't miss the walk of names in front of the building.  Personalized engraved bricks honor individuals, families, and businesses who helped make the Community Center a reality.

Avenue of Flags
Argonia Cemetery - Memorial Day
 
Every Memorial Day, over 150 flags fly in the Argonia Cemetery.  These flags are flown in memory of the many Argonians who have served in the U.S. armed forces. The Avenue of Flags is sponsored by the local VFW and auxiliary.
 
Directions: The Argonia Cemetery is just east of town on US HWY 160.
 
Dixon Township Library
  Argonia's Dixon Township Library, located just west of Main Street at 120 W. Walnut, offers a wide variety of services to the public.  Besides the excellent selection of non-fiction and fiction books, the library offers year-round reading programs and story time for children.  Books not available in the library's own collection can be procured through the Kansas state interlibrary loan program.  A public access computer with a high-speed Internet connection is available for online research and other needs.

Floyd Memorial Chapel
Argonia Cemetery
 
The Floyd Memorial Chapel, located on the west edge of Argonia's cemetery, was dedicated in 2003.  It provides space for families to grieve and for small services.  Public restrooms are available inside.
 
 
Directions: The Argonia Cemetery is just east of town on US HWY 160.

Directions:  From US HWY 160, turn south on Main Street.  At the south edge of town, turn west on 20th Street South one mile.  Turn north (road curves) onto Blackstone Rd, 1/2 mile.
 
Marty Harrison Field
When baseball season descends on Argonia, you can hear the sounds and see the lights of Marty Harrison Field well into the night. The field is home to all Argonia's little league games, high school games, and softball tournaments.

Directions:  From US HWY 160 turn south on Main Street six blocks.  Turn east (left) on Garfield Street.  After three blocks, just past Salter Park and the swimming pool, Garfield Street runs into the ball field's parking area.
 
Memorial Walkway
The Memorial Walkway provides a safe place for visitors and residents of Argonia to walk, bike, or run in a beautiful outdoor setting. At the sound end of the walkway is Argonia's River Park along the Chikaskia River. The River Park provides RV hookups, tent camping sites, picnic grounds, a bathhouse, and fishing access on the river.
 
Directions:  From US HWY 160 turn south on Main Street in Argonia.  The walkway begins at the city limits on the south edge of town and winds through trees along Argonia Rd to the River Park 1/2 mile south of town.
 
River Park
Argonia's scenic river park overlooking Chikaskia River provides residents and visitors with ample opportunities for fun and recreation. The park has picnic shelter houses, deck, picnic tables, 1/2 mile walking trail (part of the Memorial Walkway - see above) public fishing access and FREE WiFi. The WiFi access can be given to users at the city building once they have signed a form, we will then give the password.  The park can be used by the public for camping.  Tent camping is allowed.  Twenty four hookups accessible restrooms with showers on the campgrounds. The daily fees for camping are below.

Rodeo Grounds
Near Argonia's scenic river park overlooking Chikaskia River are the Rodeo grounds where events are held at different times of the year. Please contact Ron Kenney for information about leasing the grounds for day use or an event during the week or weekend.

Salter Park
Salter Park provides a great place for children to play and adults to relax. A picnic shelter and several benches dot the grassy city block. A tennis court with basketball goals on the sides fills the northeast corner of the park. A new slide made possible by funds from Parents of Argonia Raising Kids, Kids Club, Argonia Park Board, and the City of Argonia.

Salter Museum

On the southeast corner of the Salter Park is the city's swimming pool. Open approximately from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the pool, complete with dual water slides and a diving board provides a cool escape from the Kansas summer heat.  Periodic midnight swims provide an opportunity for fellowship for young and old alike. The pool offers a wide variety of activities; swim team, water aerobics, lap swimming, pool parties and swim lessons. Pool passes for singles up to families of 6 or more are available.
